Ok. So how much does leadership owe to the idea of theater, creating theater? How much of it is about control or delegation?
It depends.
It depends on the audience, their needs and receptivity and abilities, their self-sufficiency, the challenge at hand, the leader's relationships. It just depends.
And it's ever-changing. The great theater that worked yesterday must be replaced by the great listener tomorrow. The all-powerful Oz-type leader needed in times of turmoil and change must be replaced by the leader that listens and acknowledges areas of weakness and insists on participation by everyone.
The qualities of a leader are only as important as the needs of the group. It's right leadership that's important. Getting leadership that's right for the group takes a lot of listening, humility, flexibility, pragmatism and data-based decisions and some great intuition and quick learning skills.

Hello Zane,
If the world is a stage, business must be the theater with the business leader being the lead character.
I have personally found that reading an audience is a function of knowing my role and fulfilling my vision. I have also found that a daily Meditation Practice keeps me present and opens my Business Intuition to really connect with my audience (customers, employees, vendors and referral partners).
