    3-4 years ago Conference Calls Unlimited ceased investing in traditional advertising. Truth be known, it wasn't an investment. It was a donation. And the ROI was that of a donation: A thank-you note, a towel and a jar of jelly-beans.

    He directed that budget to their customers' experience and incentivizing their staff.

    It works. Customer churn was less than 1%. Sales conversion ratio is over 75%. Profits tripled. Conference Calls Unlimited was profiled in MarketingSherpa and the book Testify: How Remarkable Companies Are Creating Customer Evangelists.

It's a great time to be an entreprenuer

Joe Kraus with his Bnoopy blog lists his 10 reasons why now is a great time to be an entreprenuer.  The number one reason why it's a good time for entrepreneurs is:

Hardware is 100x Cheaper.

His post is a good reminder that with all the upheaval in our economy... there's always the balancing factor of increasing opportunities.

bnoopy is an excellent read. The blog was recommended by Hillary Johnson in her article "Why I read business blogs" in Inc. magazine. Joe Kraus, bnoopy's author, is the original CEO for EXCITE and bnoopy's his blog for his new startup. His posting schedule, while light on quantity (hey, he's leading a startup) is heavy on quality. That makes a nice addition for your RSS reader.
